How to install your ShredLog

Introduction

This page helps you to install the über simple ShredLog CMS.

A ShredLog is a web publication tool you can install on your web server. This application helps you to maintain a website like a blog or a tumblelog.

ShredLog is released under the Creative Commons (BY-NC-SA) Licence: please take a look at the joined file licence.html!

You can find more infos at the project page ShredLog.Hyastr.org.

Required stuff

ShredLog should easily run on most servers, but it's not a guarantee for the more exotic ones...

You need at least a server with:
- Apache 1.3.3
- PHP 4.4.7
- a database MySQL 4.1

You need these tools:
- a FTP application
- a simple code editor

Installation

0. Download and unzip the last version of ShredLog (at ShredLog.Hyastr.org)
1. Create your database
2. Fill the file configuration.php in the folder machines
3. Upload all the files to your server
4. Change the permissions of the mediabank folder to 777
5. Open your browser, go to your shredlog url and follow the instructions
6. The end :)

Update

Be careful if you have made some modifications (other than the configuration file) to your ShredLog. It means that you know your stuff and that you will only replace the right things...

0. Download and unzip the last ShredLog version at ShredLog.Hyastr.com
1. Delete the local configuration.php file (it is in the machines folder)
2. Delete the local mediabank folder
3. Upload (replace) all the files (therefore without the mediabank folder and the configuration.php file)
4. The end :)

Have a good experience!
